Frye Field: Matching Challenge and New Website!
This blog post first ran on our new website for the Frye Field Conservation project — www.fryefield.highmowing.org.
Today we are proud to announce the launch of our Preserving Horizons: The Conservation of Frye Field website. This website was created to spread the word about our project to purchase and conserve 105 acres of farm and forestland adjacent to High Mowing School. On this site you will find an explanation of the project, an introduction to our partners, a history of the land, and pictures of the view that this project seeks to preserve.
It is High Mowing’s goal to purchase and conserve these 105 acres—to preserve this horizon. As part of this project High Mowing has also committed 54 acres of its own land to conservation, potentially creating a tract of 160 acres of newly conserved land spanning from the top of Abbott Hill down to the Souhegan River. But we need your help.
Between donors and foundations we need to raise $353,000 more to reach our goal of $1,220,000 needed to purchase the land and the easement that places this land into conservation.
Generous donors have offered $65,000 in matching challenges, meaning they will match donations to this campaign dollar for dollar up to $65,000.
An anonymous donor has pledged $40,000 in matching funds for gifts from High Mowing students, parents, faculty, and members of the High Mowing community.
High Mowing alumna Noa HALL ‘61 has pledged $25,000 in matching funds for gifts from alumni/ae and alumni/ae parents.
By giving today, the impact of your gift will be doubled!
We encourage you to follow our Twitter and Facebook for updates on fundraising progress, events, and other news. If you have any questions about this project, please feel free to call Kathy Boss at 654-2391 ext. 105.
