Planned gifts can be made in numerous ways, many of which can benefit the donor as well as the School. Possibilities include the following:
Gifts by Will
You can leave a lasting legacy by naming a bequest to High Mowing School in your will. If you have already done so, please email
so we can recognize your generosity with membership in the Abbot Hill Society. You may include the School in your will by leaving a percentage of the estate, a specific dollar amount, or by naming High Mowing School as the residual beneficiary. Estate taxes can be reduced by making a bequest.
When you name High Mowing School the owner and beneficiary of an insurance policy, you ensure a significant gift to the School and are entitled to a current charitable income tax deduction.
You may be able to accomplish more with these assets by designating them to High Mowing School. If left to noncharitable heirs (other than your spouse), retirement plan assets are subject to income and estate taxes. With a change of beneficiary form, you can designate High Mowing as a partial or whole recipient of your retirement plan. You can also designate High Mowing as a contingent beneficiary providing for the School should your primary beneficiary predecease you.
