UPDATE: This event has been cancelled due to winter weather.
Warm up your winter with the Sinfonietta’s upcoming Winter Concert on Sunday, February 24 at 4 p.m. in the Big Room at High Mowing School. The Sinfonietta, a community chamber orchestra now in its 8th year, is directed by Mark Ferguson, and made up of talented high school and middle school students as well as professional musicians from around the region. The concert is free, but donations are appreciated.
The concert program features dance music including a Strauss waltz, a Tarantella by Debussy, a Minuet by Ravel, some Spanish dances and an original tango.
High Mowing students Clelie Fielding '14, Nimrod Sadeh '13, Hillary Renaud '13, Fiona Graham '13 and Sivan Perez '15 will perform. They will be joined by Cam Twarog (Keene Middle School), Ursula Kratzenberg (Con Val, ’16), Lily Crandall-Oral (Pine Hill Waldorf School) and Andrew Koutroubas (WLC, ’12). The Sinfonietta brings smaller, expressive pieces of music by great composers to the southern Monadnock region several times a year.
