This year May Day will be held on May 3 at High Mowing School. As always, the event will feature Morris Dancing, the annual Pottery Sale, games, a music café, and more. But this year May Day will be a collaborative event between High Mowing School, Pine Hill Waldorf School, and the Temple-Wilton Community Farm. Members of each institution are currently involved in planning a day of festivities and games for the whole community.
The festival will be held at High Mowing School and will last from 10:30 am to 4 pm. The Morris and Maypole dancing will begin at 11:30, followed by lunch and Mrs. Karl’s Pottery Sale. There will also be student performances during the afternoon in the Big Room and games for all ages. After the festival the final performance of the Spring Musical will be held at across the street at Pine Hill Waldorf School at 7 pm.
This year the Spring Musical is Finian’s Rainbow. Rehearsals have already begun and it will be performed at 7pm Thursday the 1st, Friday the 2nd, and Saturday the 3rd.
Finian's Rainbow is the story of a man named Finian who flees his homeland of Ireland with a pot of gold that he stole from a leprechaun named Og. Finian's intent is to bury the gold near Fort Knox, but matters are complicated by Og and a bigoted U.S. Senator.
Tickets are available at the door, $12 for adults and $8 for seniors and students with I.D.
