Many of New Hampshire’s most engaged high school music students have been busy this fall with audition preparations for the NH All-State Music Festival. This is an annual event, featuring 500 high school students in choral, orchestral, and concert band ensembles.
Four High Mowing students have been accepted to the Festival and will perform in Concord, NH, on April 12-14, 2012. They are Christian Hoschek '12 of Temple, NH (viola); Fiona Graham '13 of Wilton, NH (violin); Nimrod Sadeh '13 of Wilton, NH (cello) and Sophia Darby ’13 of Wilton, NH (alto voice). Christian, Fiona and Nimrod will be part of a full-sized orchestra of approximately 100 players; Sophia will be a part of the All-State mixed chorus, which features more than 150 singers. This will be Fiona’s second time as an All-State participant and Christian’s fourth. Christian will receive a special award at the April festival, in recognition of his sustained musical excellence.
Additionally, Christian, Fiona, and Nimrod were selected for an added honor: participation in the All-State Chamber Festival, scheduled for January 7, 2012. This one-day festival features smaller chamber groups, and is the very highest statewide distinction offered to New Hampshire high school music students.
We congratulate these students for their very hard work in preparing for the auditions and their success at being chosen for the Festival.
