Lyme-prevention Presentation
Posted 03/07/2012 12:28PM

Wednesday, April 4, 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Big Room

Concerned about the prevalence of Lyme disease? We are, too! In an effort to educate our community, High Mowing will host a presentation with Lyme-prevention advocates Sherrie Juris and David Hunter.

Sherrie is a biologist, familiar with the tick lifecycle. She will share tips on avoiding tick bites, including how to dress and where to walk. Tick samples and the use of tick-removal spoons will also be part of her presentation. David Hunter is the facilitator of the Greater Manchester Lyme Disease Support Group and the creator of a curriculum for school children in the Milford, NH School District. David has given numerous lectures to raise public awareness and correct the many myths and misunderstandings associated with Lyme disease. For the past two years, he has served on the New Hampshire Lyme Legislation Committee, working on the recently legislated Lyme bill.

High Mowing and Pine Hill students, faculty, families and community members are welcome to attend this informative presentation but pre-registration is required as space is limited. If you are interested in attending, please contact Sarah Philip at High Mowing School: 603 654-9408 ext. 234 or sphilip@highmowing.org. The presentation is free.
