About the Position

HMS is accepting applications for a full or part-time Music Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.  Classes that would be taught include

• Middle School chorus and high school a cappella elective
• Middle and High School instrumental ensemble elective
• High School band
• High School music electives, including courses such as  songwriting or music theory
• Participation in the yearly high school Musical, Nativity, and additional  seasonal festivals

Qualifications

Our preferred candidate is experienced in teaching groups of middle and high school students, has experience working in a private school environment, and is passionate about sharing their love of music with these students. Patient, organized, and dependable, they are committed to excellence in the classroom, love working with children, and are eager to contribute to a strong community of dedicated teachers and students. 

Requirements

• Experience teaching choral singing to middle and high school students, able to play simple piano accompaniment
• Experience teaching a wide variety of instrumental subject areas to high school students
• Organized, dependable, punctual
• Able to work collaboratively
• Passionate and authentic
