Faculty and Staff Profiles
At High Mowing, we adore our faculty and staff. Their unparalleled dedication to their students and High Mowing’s mission shines daily.
Because a Waldorf education is a social education, relationships between students and teachers are deeply valued and cultivated. In the grades, it’s typical for the same teacher to remain as the class teacher throughout the elementary years. In the high school, students and faculty are on a first-name basis, encouraging students to lean on invested, caring adults as teenagers work to find their place in the world.
Our faculty and staff have diverse backgrounds — including those who were Waldorf students themselves, those who taught in public schools, and those who saw the benefits of a High Mowing education for their own children and who now want to share it with others.
We all welcome you to High Mowing School!

[Families] have cited that relationships with teachers at High Mowing are different. They were more like guides in their lives, who are also interested in what the student’s individual interests were so they could look for ways to cultivate those interests.Patrick Gillam, Alumni Parent
We are not trying to fit a student into a particular mold. We are trying to figure out who the human being is who stepped in front of us. We can figure out, "What do you need to be the best that you can be?"Jennifer Kershaw, Class Teacher
