While completing his degree in music education from the University of Southern Maine (USM), Benjamin taught three choir classes, music theory, and guitar during his internship at Windham High School in Maine. He also completed his elementary internship at Pond Cove Elementary in Maine, teaching general music to kindergarten through grade 4. Benjamin was a guest conductor for the 2025 USM Student American Choral Directors Association (SACDA) composers showcase, in which the chorale piece "The Water Song" was debuted. He has been a guitarist for 11 years, has taught private lessons, and has participated in 13 pit bands — one being the Maine premiere of "The Prom" (2023). Every summer since 2021, he has worked at his local Boys and Girls Club as a camp counselor for children ages 6–14.
