High Mowing Students Attend Clark University Model UN Conference, Take Home Awards

On March 28, 2026, a team of six students from High Mowing attended the Model United Nations Conference hosted by Clark University.

The following students attended:

  • Seriena Ciborski '26, who represented the character of Duke Leto Atriedes in a Crisis Scenario based on the novel Dune.
  • Constanza Heredia-Carabias '29 who represented the character of the Argentine Senator Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in a historical specialized General Assembly based on the Argentine Congress of 2001.
  • Lily Nemes '28, who represented the character of the Argentinian Senator Nicolás Alejandro Fernández in a historical specialized General Assembly based on the Argentine Congress of 2001.
  • Gabe Scott '26, who represented the character of Gandalf the Grey in a Crisis Scenario based on the Council of Elrond in the book the Fellowship of the Ring.
  • Reef Hilbig '27, who represented the United States on the Security Council in a historical Crisis Scenario discussing the Syrian Civil War.
  • Ellenore Boyer '29 who represented the character of "The Beast" Glossu Rabban in a Crisis Scenario based on the novel Dune.

All of the students did a wonderful job at the conference, and two won special recognition at the closing ceremonies. Ellenore Boyer '29, received Honorable Mention for her representation of "The Beast" Glossu Rabban in the Dune crisis scenario, despite this being her first year doing Model UN, and only her second major conference. Seriena Ciborski '26 won Best Delegate, which is the highest honor possible, for her representation of the character Duke Leto Atreides in the Dune Crisis Scenario. This was Seriena's final conference as a High Mowing student ahead of graduation, and this was a wonderful way for her to cap her Model UN career at High Mowing, where she has been a real leader in the program and won multiple awards. The students wanted to share the following advice for fellow students preparing for future conferences:

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. It’s better to try, mess up, and learn something than to hide yourself away.Seriena
Especially if you are an opposition force, make waves, be bold, and speak even if it is against what everyone else is saying.Ellenore
Be bold and daring. Even if you're shaking in your seat as you see your name on the speakers list coming up soon for a speech you don’t have, just know you’ll look back and know you made the right choice by pushing yourself, because you might be surprised by what you can do.Reef
Start thinking up ideas and talking to lots of people at the start of the conference rather than closer to the end.Gabe
Just be yourself, and you don’t have to be perfect — you just have to be brave enough to try. That’s where real leadership begins.✨Constanza
