Junior Class to Present "As You Like It"
Under the direction of Wendy Bruneau, High Mowing's junior class is preparing their class play, "As You Like It," which will be presented to the community on Friday, October 24.
"As You Like It" is a comedy that contrasts the pressure of the social ladder at court (and its occasional cruelty) with the simple pastoral life in the country. The play gleefully pokes fun at the conventions of romance, and contrasts the artifice and snobbery of courtly manners with genuine kindness.
This play is appropriate for all ages, but will be best appreciated by middle schoolers and up. Join us on Friday, October 24, at 7 p.m. in the Big Room on our high school campus for this rollercoaster ride through an amusement park of polarities — Shakespeare's most joyous celebration of what it means to be human.
