Step 1 | Complete an Application

Complete and submit the High Mowing School application, including the student's academic records, a student questionnaire  introducing the student and their interest in High Mowing, and a copy of the student's passport.

Step 2 | Complete the Duolingo English Test

The Duolingo English test is required for non-native English speakers to assess English proficiency and determine the appropriate ESL level. Intermediate and advanced English as a Second Language (ESL) levels are available to support students' language development and help students integrate smoothly into our curriculum and community.

ELS placement is determined by the Duolingo score. Minimum scores are as follows:

  • Grades 9 & 10: minimum Duolingo score of 80
  • Grade 11: minimum Duolingo score of 85
  • Grade 12: minimum Duolingo score of 90

Step 3 | Complete the Academic and Personal Assessments

Submit your transcripts, recent grades, and any standardized test scores (if available) for academic readiness. We also require two recommendation letters from teachers or mentors (preferably in English or with an English translation) to help us understand the student's academic abilities and personal character.

Finally, all applicants participate in a virtual interview where students can discuss their goals, personal interests, and reasons for choosing High Mowing.

Step 4 | Acceptance and I-20 Processing

Upon acceptance, families receive an official acceptance letter detailing the enrollment steps. After payment is received, High Mowing will initiate the Form I-20 application to support the student's US study visa process.
