Reunion Weekend

Reunion Weekend takes place in June, providing an opportunity for alumni of all vintages to connect or reconnect. This year is our first unified Reunion Weekend with alumni who attended Pine Hill and High Mowing.

Celebrating Three Significant Anniversaries

This year, we celebrate three significant anniversaries:

  • In 1942, Beulah Hepburn Emmet opened the doors to High Mowing School in the midst of World War II. In May 1943, High Mowing graduated its first class of alumni.
  • 30 years later in the fall of 1972, HMS alum Ann Pratt and several founding faculty members launched Pine Hill in Wilton Center. (The school moved to the present campus in the mid 80s.)
  • In July 2017, the schools officially merged into the pre-K through grade 12 school we know today.

High Mowing has a long history, and we look back with gratitude and move forward with resolve.

Detailed Schedule of Events

In addition to the events listed below, the following are available throughout the weekend:

  • Activities in dorm common rooms
  • Video archive sharing room
  • Yearbooks, Christmas Books, and alumni obituaries
  • Displays of grades 1–12 curriculum in the Pine Hill Eurythmy room
  • 8th grade class photos in Pine Hill hallways
  • School store
  • Pool

Covering the Costs of the Weekend

As in the past, the Alumni Association is committed to reducing barriers that might prevent alumni from returning to the Hill. The Alumni Association will cover the cost of the weekend for all who need it.

If you are able to help cover the costs that are inevitably associated with an event like this — food, music, staffing, and more — we suggest the following contribution amounts per person: for the full weekend, $75 per person; for those wishing to join us for only one day, $50 per person; for those who graduated high school in 2012 or later, $25 per person.

Contributions towards Reunion Weekend costs are not considered tax-deductible contributions to our school. If you would like to make a donation to High Mowing's Annual Fund or to the Alumni Association, that option is available as well. Additional contributions to the Alumni Association allow us to make gifts of books to the students at Yule fest, welcome the seniors into the Alumni Association, and help us make Reunion Weekend inclusive and accessible.

Supporting High Mowing School

In addition to your non-tax-deductible registration, the Alumni Association hopes you will consider a donation to the High Mowing School annual fund, which helps close the gap between tuition dollars raised and the total needed to provide the excellent education to our 330 students. Every gift to High Mowing School makes a significant difference — whether the gift is large or small, it signifies your confidence in us as a school worthy of your support. Our fiscal year ends on June 30, and we hope you will join us in celebrating 80 years of High Mowing. Thank you!
