Like our past Annual Reports this publication acknowledges High Mowing's donors for their generous support of the school, but it now also serves as a recap for the previous year: short news articles, a feature story, donor lists, student art, and more. High Mowing's fiscal year begins on July 1, and so each edition of High Mowing | This Year, like past Annual Reports, details giving from the fiscal year prior to publication.
High Mowing | This Yearwas born as an extension of our two primary online communication tools: High Mowing | Today, a page on our website that features daily posts about life at High Mowing, and High Mowing | This Week, a weekly email with a picture highlighting the events of the past week. High Mowing | This Year recaps the prior year and thanks the donors who made possible the opportunies enjoyed by the students.

Annual Report 2017-18
This report marks the first Annual Report for our unified Pre-K through grade 12 Waldorf school. The strength of our community is reflected through the report. Our Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends answered the call and let us to yet another successful fundraising year. Together we will continue to educate our students in and out of the classrooms as one community.
This report is our last before our official unification with Pine Hill Waldorf School, yet in 2016–17 we were hard at work planning for our endeavor of a unified preschool – grade 12 Waldorf school on the hill. Our will to unite, to share our talents and resources as a preschool-through-grade-12 Waldorf school on Abbot Hill, has come to life: an achievement worthy of High Mowing School’s 75th and Pine Hill Waldorf School’s 45th anniversaries.
In this inaugural edition of "High Mowing | This Year" our theme is "Looking Back": on a successful year of fundraising and on the the completed, multi-year Campaign for Frye Field. Throughout the Campaign for Frye Field, faculty, staff, and trustees often looked back on Mrs. Emmet's vision for High Mowing and on the role played by this special land in the lives of High Mowing students, past and present. Generous financial support from our parents, alumni, and wider community made the Campaign for Frye Field a success. Now, as we turn our attention to the future and the school's 75th year, the success of the Campaign for Frye Field leaves us with one question: if as a community we can preserve 150 acres of forest and farmland forever, what else is possible?
Alumni and parents gave generously in the 2013-14 fiscal year. Gifts to the Annual Fund supprted the day-to-day operations of the school, and gifts to scholarship and specialized funds opened doors for our students.
Meanwhile, the Campaign for Frye Field launched in the spring of 2014. Alumni, parents, faculty, and the wider community stepped up together to purchase and conserve 101 acres from the Frye Family, who had farmed the land for seven generations. Mary Graham, HMS Board President and alumnae parent, donated a stunning painting of Frye Field to be raffled. Five alumni returned to campus to perform a benefit concert. Wilton residents voted at Town Meeting to contribute to the project.
Founded in 1942, HMS is an accredited Waldorf co-educational high school serving day and boarding students in Wilton, NH. High Mowing merged with Pine Hill Waldorf School in 2017, creating an early childhood through grade 12 Waldorf school—a place to grow intellectually, artistically, and socially while living and learning with students from across town and around the world. Accredited by NEASC and AWSNA (high school current; lower school in process).
