High Mowing is home to a rich and immersive music program. In our music and recording studios, High Mowing offers many opportunities for students to pursue their musical ambitions with experts.

First-years are required to take Performance Art, a multidisciplinary introduction to musical practice and performance. They can delve into music history in the About The Beatles and World Music courses. The score and produce original content in the Music Composition and Songwriting courses, and develop ensemble skills in the Chamber Music courses.

Our music program also provides the students with skills for the digital age. They learn computer-based track editing in the Recording Technology course, and in the Media Performance they pursue multidisciplinary media projects with their peers.

Founded in 1942, High Mowing School is an accredited Waldorf co-educational school serving day, boarding, and homestay students in Wilton, NH, from early childhood through grade 12. HMS is a place to grow intellectually, artistically, and socially while living and learning with students from across town and around the world.  Accredited by NEASC and AWSNA (high school current; lower school in process).
