Fully Involved in Student Life

The social life and traditional events at High Mowing School involve both day and boarding students.

Day students are welcome to be on campus at times besides the official day of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These times include attending study hall in the library from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. (Monday through Thursday) and special evening events. Students may stay for supper without charge when participating in school activities.

Day students are invited to participate fully in weekend activities offered on and off campus. In addition to just “hanging out,” weekend activities include gatherings in the dorms, movies, coffee houses, dances, poetry readings, concerts, athletic events, seasonal trips to the ocean, mountain climbs, camping, and excursions to Boston or other places of interest. Day students are invited to Sunday dinner and the following Student Community Gathering on selected Sundays.

We encourage day students to invite boarding students to their homes, especially boarding students who are a long way from home.  Day students may also stay overnight in the dorm with permission.
