Augusta Kokas

Augusta has taught us what it is like to think multi-dimensionally, with her boundless creativity and her ever-shifting persona. She could be alternatively incisive, vague, skeptical, funny, reserved, obstinate…and more!

She was always fascinating.

A gifted filmmaker and a fashion connoisseur, Augusta connected to the natural world through her love of horses, competing in local jumping shows.

She sought an “intriguing” high school education in which to “grow and expand as a human being,” a desire that naturally led to her distinguishing herself at High Mowing. Augusta was the first female to perform as a King in the Nativity and the first in recent memory to write and perform an original song as a ‘Secret Santa’ gift.

For her senior capstone project Augusta created original couture pieces from repurposed, cast-off clothing and staged a runway-style fashion show of the collection.

Augusta will study liberal arts and fashion design at Goucher College in Baltimore Maryland, where she received a merit scholarship.
