Black Rock Teams Win Tournament Games
The Black Rock Football Club Residential Academy at High Mowing School attracts high-level student-athletes from around the globe, providing a residential soccer program coupled with a premier high school education.
On February 11, our BRFC boys’ team hosted an eight-team tournament at the Hampshire Dome in nearby Milford, NH. Five teams from three Black Rock Residential Academies attended the event: Northwood School U17 and U19, Immaculate Heart Central U17 and U19, and our own High Mowing School U19. They were joined by three other teams: Valencia Football Club (Quebec, Canada) U19 and the New England Revolution U17 and U19 Academy.
The showcase saw over 35 coaches from across the country including Dartmouth, Notre Dame, University of Washington, Brown, Vermont, UCLA, UNH, UCONN, Pitt, Northeastern, Amherst, Bowdoin, Babson, Franklin Pierce. With the support of the community, High Mowing played very well and won all three games on the weekend beating Northwood 2-0, Revolution (U19) 2-0, and Valencia 3-0.
This same weekend, our girls’ team traveled to Burlington, VT, for a one-day tournament hosted by Far Post Soccer Club. They brought home the championship for the second year in a row, winning against a very strong rival team, the Albany Alleycats, in front of approximately 15 college coaches from the Northeast.
