CSP Troupers Tour This Summer with Circus Smirkus
In July, the Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour returns to Wilton!
Once again, Smirkus will pitch their big top tent on our high school campus and present four shows. When they do, HMS welcomes home two of our Circus Studies Program (CSP) students who were selected as tour troupers this summer.
Gabbi Zielie, HMS rising senior, is touring in her first year with Circus Smirkus, and Owen Lawson-Spratley, HMS rising junior, has been a Smirkus Trouper since 2020. Gabbi, Owen, and 28 other Smirkus troupers are led by Smirkus Head Coach Jon Roitman. During the school year, Jon serves as the HMS Circus Studies Program coordinator and movement teacher. High Mowing's CSP is for aspiring young circus artists, providing a residential circus program coupled with a premier Waldorf high school education. Learn more here.
About the Show
Every summer, Circus Smirkus puts on a touring circus show that travels throughout the northeastern United States. The show features a variety of circus acts, including acrobatics, aerials, juggling, clowning, and more, all performed by 30 young circus artists, aged 10 to 18, who auditioned and were chosen from hundreds of applicants from all over the country. This year's Big Top Tour theme is “A Midsummer's Night Circus,” and it is sure to be an outstanding show.
We hope to see you on campus July 24 or 25 to help us give Gabbi, Owen, and Jon a memorable homecoming! Tickets are available here.
