High Mowing Student Wins Coast Guard Core Values Award

The Coast Guard Core Values Award was recently presented to Sebastian “Arbo” Arbogast ’23 by AMTC Dane McCollister of the U. S. Coast Guard.

The award is a recognition of Arbo’s leadership and commitment as captain of the boys Black Rock soccer team and as a member of the High Mowing student body. Arbo’s willingness to serve his coaches and teammates with humility and pride directly reflect the Coast Guard Core Values and traditions.

In his thank you note to his coaches and faculty, Arbo said, "I want to personally reach out to show my appreciation for allowing me to receive this award. I take great pride in showing my true character as well as making as much of an impact on the community as I possibly can. I try my best to give back to this beautiful community as much as I receive from it. I want to thank you all for allowing me to receive such a great education as well as allowing me to express myself in a positive and healthy way. My growth as not only a soccer player but also as a student and person has increased greatly thanks to your help. I would not be who I am today if it wasn’t for this community."
