High School Students Attend Boston University Model UN

Recently, eight of High Mowing School's high school students attended the 14th Boston University Model UN (MUN) conference, marking the 10th year HMS has attended this conference.

The eight-member delegation included Vaugh Anderson '25, Henry Ditlow '25, Nic Tong 25, and Ethan Wang '25. Juniors included Seriena Ciborski and Valentina Heredia-Carabias. Two sophomores, Finn Coyle and Freddie Gieschen, attended as well. This was the largest conference in High Mowing's 30 plus years of Model UN with over 2,300 delegates from around the world.

At the Model UN, students represent a country or a person on a committee, where they usually take up three topics over the course of the conference. MUN delegates learn to work with other delegates representing countries or blocs to resolve issues — even when holding conflicting views. The students prepare by studying the topics and their country's position on the topics and write a paper stating their country's position on each topic.

Well done, HMS MUN!
