Senior Capstone Project - Vintage Clothing Store
For her capstone project, senior Bella Stimming opened a vintage clothing shop called Sophie's Closet to provide a more sustainable way to purchase clothing.
She sources items made from natural fibers by buying in bulk or finding quality items in need of repair. Bella repairs the garments herself and sells the refurbished pieces out of her storefront on Main Street in Wilton. Her offerings include denim, sweaters, and a large selection of leather jackets.
Bella has also learned about what is required behind the scenes to run a small business. Before opening Sophie's Closet, Bella applied for a business license and set up an EIN and business bank account for tax purposes.
Sophie’s Closet is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 41 Main Street in Wilton.
