HMS Welcomes Mary Graham as New Board President

On June 20, Mary Graham became President of the High Mowing School Board of Trustees. Mary, an alumnae parent and local artist, has been a dedicated member of the High Mowing community for many years. Her experience as an alumnae parent, her dedication to the arts, her appreciation of Waldorf education and her commitment to High Mowing's future are just a few of the qualities that make her perfectly suited to lead High Mowing's Board of Trustees.

Mary is a contemporary landscape artist. She lives in Wilton, New Hampshire, and her daughters, Gillian '05 and Fiona '13, are both High Mowing graduates. Mary worked as a set designer in New York city for 15 years before moving to Wilton, New Hampshire. She was educated at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, The Art Student’s League, The Polakov Studio of Stage Design, and The New Hampshire Institute of Art.

Mary has been instrumental in the effort to conserve Frye Field. In addition to volunteering countless hours towards a town warrant article campaign, Mary recently donated an 18" by 54" painting to High Mowing to be raffled. The painting, a stunning oil on linen depiction of the view across Frye Field, was recently raffled, with the proceeds going towards the conservation effort.
Mary gave the Commencement Address at this year's Commencement Ceremony. Read the address on our blog, and check out Mary's website.
